Accessibility Statement

京狐 Kyo Kitsune wants everyone to be able to read our menu and reach us, whatever device or assistive technology they use.

Effective date: 29 July 2026

Our commitment

We are committed to making kyo-kitsune.com accessible to as many people as possible, including people who use screen readers, keyboard-only navigation, screen magnification, or browser zoom and text-resizing tools. Accessibility is treated as part of building the site, not an afterthought.

Standard we aim for

This website has been built to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA, the standard referenced by the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and widely adopted internationally.

What we have done

  • Colour contrast. Body text meets or exceeds a 4.5:1 contrast ratio against its background, and large text and interface elements meet at least 3:1. Colour is never the only way information is conveyed.
  • Keyboard access. Every link, button and form field can be reached and operated with a keyboard alone, in a logical order, with a clearly visible focus outline. A "Skip to main content" link is the first item on every page.
  • Screen readers. Pages use semantic HTML landmarks (header, navigation, main, footer), a single logical heading hierarchy per page, and accessible names on icon-only controls such as the menu button and social links.
  • Images. Every meaningful image has descriptive alternative text; purely decorative images are marked so assistive technology skips them.
  • Forms. Every field on our contact form has a properly associated visible label, appropriate input types, and status messages that are conveyed as text rather than by colour alone.
  • Zoom and reflow. Text can be enlarged to 200% and the layout reflows to narrow screens without loss of content or functionality, and without horizontal scrolling. Pinch-zoom is never disabled.
  • Motion. The only animation on the site is a gentle fade as sections scroll into view. It is disabled automatically for visitors whose system is set to "reduce motion". There is no autoplaying video or audio, and nothing flashes.
  • Language. Each page declares its language, and Japanese passages are individually marked up so screen readers pronounce them with the correct voice.

Known limitations

We test with automated accessibility tooling and manual keyboard review, but no site is ever perfect. Two things we want to be honest about:

  • Our contact form is provided through our website platform. Where its behaviour is outside our direct control, we work with the provider to get accessibility issues fixed.
  • Content we link to on third-party services, such as our Instagram profile, is outside our control and may not meet the same standard.

Tell us about a barrier

If you run into something on this site you cannot access, we want to hear about it — it is the fastest way for us to fix it. Please contact us through the form on our Visit & contact page and, if you can, tell us:

  • the page address where you ran into the problem;
  • what you were trying to do;
  • the browser, device and any assistive technology you were using.

We aim to respond to accessibility reports promptly, and we will tell you what we plan to do about the issue. If you need information from this site in a different format, ask us and we will find a way to get it to you.

Accessibility at our shop

京狐 Kyo Kitsune is opening soon in Las Vegas, Nevada. Once our premises are confirmed we will publish information here about physical access at the shop itself. If you have a specific access question before then, please get in touch and we will answer it as best we can.

Reviews and updates

We review this statement when the site changes substantially, and at least once a year. The effective date above shows the most recent review.
